The Gleaning-Spellspinners of Melas County 2

Published October 2012 by Coliloquy, LLC
In the second installment of the Spellspinners saga, Lily’s worldview is rocked by fear, mistrust, and heartbreak, as she deals with the fallout from the night of her enchantment.

Someone powerful is determined to keep her and Logan apart. But who? And why?

As the covens prepare to do battle in the Solstice Stones, the lines between good and evil, dark and light, begin to blur. Allegiances are called into question. Trust is broken. And all Lily knows may just be an illusion.

Will the star-crossed lovers unearth the seeds of betrayal before it’s too late? Or will the witches and warlocks of Melas County be forced to say goodbye to their magic—and any chance of reconciliation between the covens—for good?

In The Gleaning, nothing is as it seems. And Lily and Logan will have to tread carefully if they hope to uncover the truth in time to save their love and break the curse.

I read and reviewed the first book of this series called Witch's Brew and LOVED it! You can read it here. These books are a little different from an original book meaning where you able to choose you're own "destiny." Let me explain.. As you're reading the reader gets an interactive experience and is able to chose which way they want the story to go. The ending is still the same but you get to take different ways to get there. I read both ways just so I could be able to review it better.

I loved this book almost as much as the first. The Gleaning picks up right where Witch's Brew left of and it's filled with intense magic and fiery romance. I loved how we got to know Lily and got some more back story of her ancestors and more on Logan and some from his past. I can't wait to hear more about that. I also loved Jude.. he had that hot bad boy thing going for him and I hope to see more of him in the next book. I love me some bad boys. Butttt I am still on Logan's team... for now! ;)

The action in this book is great but the ending is pretty heartbreaking once we find out who the doppelganger is. There is betrayal, romance, sexiness and heart-pounding action in this awesome book! I wish there was MORE!! I can't wait for the next in the series!

The release date is tentatively scheduled for October 30th. If you are interested in purchasing The Gleaning go here for updates on when it is available:

I give this book 5 stars!!

Submerging (Swans Landing, #2)

Sixteen years ago, Sailor Mooring’s mother dove into the Atlantic Ocean and was never seen again. Now, Sailor is following her mother’s long swim to find answers to the questions that have haunted her life: Why did her mother leave? And what really happened the night Sailor’s father died?

Callum Murchadh has spent the last five years banished from his home and his people. At nineteen, he now lives a human life in the northern islands of Scotland, where maintaining a quiet existence is crucial to keeping his secrets hidden.

But having a finfolk girl step off the ferry and into his life was the last thing he expected.

Sailor finds herself both drawn to Callum and frightened by his warnings. He may hold the clues she needs to reach the ancestral home of her people, but knowing whether to trust him isn’t easy.

Dive deeper into the world of the finfolk in Submerging, the second book in the Swans Landing series.

I received this ebook from the author in exchange for an honest review. I also read the first book Surfacing and you can read that review here.

I really enjoyed this book. The pace was set perfectly and I think I have a bit of a crush on Callum. I love when authors have the ability to make you fall in the love with characters and Shana Norris did just that.

This book starts off almost right when the last ended and we get a switch in the main character. Meet Sailor: she was a bratty, bull-headed, fiery young mermaid. She is put to the test in this book with her step-brother Josh alongside for the journey. Those two make a great team and worked really well together. Then Callum comes and helps them along. Sailor starts feeling drawn to our handsome mysterious young man. Can she trust him? Or not? You HAVE to read this book to find out. It's intense and fast paced and made me sit down and read it in one sitting. Seriously.. go get this book! You won't regret it.
