ArmChair BEA 2012 - Day 1 Introductions

For the first day of ArmChair BEA I am going to answer five questions so you can get to know me a little better and then I'm off to other blogs so I can learn some about all the other bloggers! Cheers!

Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
Well my name is Janae! I am a huge reader and you can find me reading at almost any point of the day. Drives my husband crazy ;) I can't help it, I prefer to read rather than watch tv. I am a mother to the best little girl in the world, I'm sure every mama says that but she really is. I have been blogging for just over a year and recently just got back into it and putting more effort in promoting my blog and hosting giveaways. I love to give stuff away! ;)

What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2012?
I am just about to start Shade by Jeri Smith-Ready and I'm pretty excited about it. And my favorite book of 2012? Oh wow.. So many to name I can't choose just one so I'm going to name a couple: Insurgent by Veronica Roth, Pandemonium by Lauren Oliver, Storm by Brigid Kemmerer, and I'll stop at Grave Mercy by R.L. LaFevers. SOOOO many more I want to list but I don't want to bore you! OH! City of Lost Souls by Cassandra Clare. Sorry one more!

Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
I am going to be starting at the tech college summer quarter to get my degree in either dental assisting or as an xray technician. I figure I'll take the prerequisites and go from there and decide. I'm pretty excited and nervous as I haven't been to school in 7 years. Wow. BUT I'm glad I am going to get a degree and be able to help support my little family and then hopefully add on to it. :)

What is your favorite feature on your blog (i.e. author interviews, memes, something specific to your blog)?
I love reviews so that's my favorite about my blog. It's how I learn about new books and if they are worth my time reading or if it's something I'd be interested in.

If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?
I'd want to have dinner with Jace Lightwood from Mortal Instruments series.. Oh jeeze do I really even need to explain myself? ;)

If you're participating or if your not in ArmChair BEA comment and tell me some about yourself! Link it up! And I'll send some comment love back! ;)

Also check out my 100 follower giveaway of Clockwork Prince by Cassandra Clare! :)

  1. Hi Jane. I haven't read any of the books you picked yet. Good Luck with the schooling. There are a lot worse things to be doing than reading

  3. A couple of your favorites are in my "Best of 2012" post tomorrow! Great picks!

Good luck with your degree! And I agree about reading over TV. One of the reasons I started the blog was I thought I watched too much TV and wanted to be reading instead - figured a blog would help with that :-)

    Great to meet you!

    1. TV is just the same thing over and over. Never happy stuff so I figure reading what I want to read and getting to explore new fun worlds is the best way to replace tv! Still love your blog name!

  4. Great books you've read in 2012 so far! I too loved Grave Mercy. I STILL haven't read Insurgent though! Gah!

Also, I'm not sure who Jace Herondale is! You might want to explain that one a bit more, at least what book he's from. ;) (I'm thinking it's from Cassandra Clare's books, right?)

Here's my Armchair BEA post for today!

  5. I'm so jealous! I haven't had the chance yet to read Insurgent or City of Lost Souls, though a copy of Insurgent should be on its way to me, so hopefully, I can change that one soon. ;)

Ah, Jace... if Tod Hudson hadn't already stolen my heart, Jace probably would have... ;)

  8. I drive my boyfriend MENTAL reading all the time, he doesn't read at all so he doesn't understand at all.

Good luck with your degree! I used to work in a hospital, and the xray tech's always blew my mind with the things they knew about the human body!

  14. I much rather read than watch tv top. Actually, I very rarely watch tv.

Grave Mercy was a very quite a good book - I love the cover too.

Good luch with tech college...returning after 7 years, you have my respect. It is tough to return. I have been thinking about obtaining another degree, but now is not the time. Unfortunately, I may be in my 50s or 60s when the time is right. ;)
