The Iron Knight (Iron Fey, #4)

My name—my True Name—is Ashallayn'darkmyr Tallyn.
I am the last remaining son of Mab, Queen of the Unseelie Court. And I am dead to her.
My fall began, as many stories do, with a girl…

Review:

I loved this book through and through. And I'm going to have to tread so lightly with this review because I don't want to give anything away.

It was probably my favorite of the series... it may or may not be because I'm in love with Ash. But shhh.. don't tell! Throughout the book I really enjoyed reading about Ash and all of his trials and tribulations. And of course we can't forget about the unruly hilarious Puck.. I loved Puck through this book. He was witty and fun and when tensions were high he always calmed everyone down. But I have always been Team Ash and it will always stay that way.. I don't know.. I love bad boys what can I say?

There were a few surprise characters that helped make the book much more solid and made me feel even more love for Ash. He learned so much with the help of his friends. I can't say much more otherwise it will give too much away. Miss Kagawa has done it again and I definitely recommend this book to any and everyone. This entire series was so beautifully written I wish it didn't ever have to end. So... go pick up a copy and read it.. NOW!

Review: Thirteen Reasons Why

Thirteen Reasons Why

                                        Thirteen Reasons Why

Hardcover288 pages
Published October 18th 2007 by Razorbill

Summary:
Clay Jensen returns home from school to find a mysterious box with his name on it lying on his porch. Inside he discovers thirteen cassette tapes recorded by Hannah Baker, his classmate and crush who committed suicide two weeks earlier.
On tape, Hannah explains that there are thirteen reasons why she decided to end her life. Clay is one of them. If he listens, he'll find out how he made the list.
Through Hannah and Clay's dual narratives, debut author Jay Asher weaves an intricate and heartrending story of confusion and desperation that will deeply affect teen readers.

This book has sat on my shelf for quite a while and I kept meaning to pick it up but I'd choose another book every time. I don't know why I did but I wish I would have picked it up sooner.

I really liked this book. It was heart-wrenching and so deep that I couldn't put it down.. I had to know what happened and the reasons she chose to commit suicide. I was sad, and I laughed in a few spots, I also cried (trust me.. it was the ugly cry), and I was very happy when Cole chose to learn from it and choose something good. This book has changed the way that I think and the way I will treat others will change because even if I think I know someone I may not know what they are truly thinking deep down.

This is one of the best books I have ever read. The writing was amazing and hearing both sides from the two different people was done so eloquently. I recommend this book to anyone and everyone of any age group. I can't wait to read what Jay Asher writes next.

Once Upon a Read-a-Thon Final Update

So I only got to read 2 books because of the many distractions I had with a teething little baby. Normally I am able to read more but she kept me quite busy. :) This is the first book I was able to finish and I loved it. It was a fun and intense read and made me want to keep reading.

Then this amazing book came out and I ran to Barnes & Noble and HAD to get it.
I read Forever in a day and I couldnt put it down. The book was beautifully written and perfectly paced. I loved every moment and feel so satisfied with the ending. I love the hope and happiness it gave me in the end. I recommend this book to any and everyone. Thank you Maggie for an amazing series. Best series ever.

Overall I had a lot of fun participating in the Read-a-Thon. Thank you to  Lori at Pure Imagination, Candace at Candace's Book Blog, and Angela at Reading Angel for hosting this!

Original Sin Review

Original Sin (Personal Demons, #2)

Original Sin (Personal Demons #2)

Paperback400 pages
Published July 5th 2011 by Tor Teen

Summary:
Luc Cain was born and raised in Hell, but he isn’t feeling as demonic as usual lately—thanks to Frannie Cavanaugh and the unique power she never realized she had. But you can’t desert Hell without consequences, and suddenly Frannie and Luc find themselves targeted by the same demons who used to be Luc’s allies.

Left with few options, Frannie and Luc accept the protection of Heaven and one of its most powerful angels, Gabe. Unfortunately, Luc isn’t the only one affected by Frannie, and it isn’t long before Gabe realizes that being around her is too…tempting. Rather than risk losing his wings, he leaves Frannie and Luc under the protection of her recently-acquired guardian angel.

Which would be fine, but Gabe is barely out the door before an assortment of demons appears—and they’re not leaving without dragging Luc back to Hell with them. Hell won’t give up and Heaven won’t give in. Frannie’s guardian exercises all the power he has to keep them away, but the demons are willing to hurt anyone close to Frannie in order to get what they want. It will take everything she has and then some to stay out of Hell’s grasp.

And not everyone will get out of it alive.

Some spoilers!!!

I won this book in the giveaways section for first reads on GoodReads. And I am so glad I did. I absolutely loved Personal Demons and then Original Sin was darker since we are dealing with demons and betrayals.

OMG! LOVE Luc but I also have a soft spot for Gabe.. I can't make up my mind between the two but I do wish Frannie would have chosen already who she wants to pick. I'm sure the next book will fill us in on that.

I think this book had the right amount of action in the right spots and then at the end when Frannie asks Luc whether or not he was going with her and there was no reply!! Mannnnn! I hate waiting and have to wait another year? Jeeze! :D

I love this series so far and recommend these books to all! Go get your copy today! No really.. do it!

I love love love to scrapbook.
This is my most recent little creation that I put together
and I'm not gonna lie but I'm absolutely in love with it!
My daughter was the perfect little model for this photo session too..
not really.. but I'd like to pretend she was.
She cried through almost the whole session.
For almost all of them she was in my lap so she would stay calm and go to sleep.
these were the few we got of her.
Tricks of the trade. ;)

...And I'm absolutely in love with my little girl

So I'm a little unsure of how to start or what to say really as this is my first time.. I feel like I've moved into the big kid world of blogging.

Hmm.. I'm married, have been for 3 1/2 years now.. time has flown. We have been through many ups and downs and it has only made us that much stronger. We have a little baby girl together who was born December 18, 2010. Her name is Kadence Jayleen, which my husband Derick chose (about all he got to do since I did the rest of carrying her for 9 months.. and by the way its really 10 months but people don't tell you that.. liars. Then I also gave birth to her so I did the hard part and he got the easy part.. doesn't quite seem fair to me...) I guess I love him though.. whatever ;)

Kadence truly is our little miracle.. we love her to no ends. She is now giggling and smiling.. sometimes (when shes not teething.) She just recently started rolling over from back to belly and then back again. She sure does know how to make me smile even after drooling all the way down my shirt. Thanks Kadence!

Well baby's hungry now. I should probably feed her.. She's so demanding! ;)
